    Know Your Rights.

You have the right to remain silent. You are not required to answer questions from law enforcement about where you have been, what you were doing, or anything related to an investigation.    SAY NOTHING.

You have the right to an attorney. If you are arrested or questioned in connection with a crime, you have the right to request a lawyer before answering any questions.

You have the right to refuse searches. Unless officers have a warrant, or another legal exception, you can politely refuse consent to search your vehicle, home, or personal belongings.

You have the right to remain calm and respectful. Do not resist arrest, even if you believe the arrest is unlawful. Your attorney can challenge improper police conduct in court.

Understanding and exercising your rights can make a significant difference in protecting your freedom and your future.
